GRAMMYS BOOST iTUNES SALES (UPDATE)

The Grammy effect is having a lasting impact at iTunes—seven of the Top 10 are songs that were performed on Sunday night’s telecast and 40% of the Top 50 albums are Grammy beneficiaries.

Leading the way is the newest number to be performed at the Grammys, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s “Leave the Door Open” (also #11 at Apple Music).

Taylor Swift’s Album of the Year winner, folklore (Republic), has moved to #2 from a pre-show slot of #14, while its follow-up, evermore, is #5, up from #10. The deluxe edition of folklore is #27.

Warner’s Dua Lipa is enjoying major boosts at singles and albums. “Don’t Start Now” is #2 and “Levitating” f/DaBaby is #4, with the original of “Levitating” sitting at #26. On albums, Future Nostalgia (The Moonlight Edition) and Pop Vocal Album winner Future Nostalgia are #12 and #13.

The show opener, "Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles, holds #3, up 103 spots from the tally prior to the start of the show. The album it appears on, Fine Line (Columbia), is up to #10.

BTS’s “Dynamite” (Big Hit), the song millions of fans stayed up late to hear, rose 71 slots to #5; the album, Be, is #48.

Black Pumas’ performed song, “Colors,” rises 365 slots to #9. Two of the duo's albums are in the Top 25: Black Pumas (Deluxe) (ATO) at #6 and the original version at #23.

Billie Eilish is everywhere: Record of the Year winner “everything I wanted” (Darkroom/Interscope) is up 157 slots to #7, while her big Grammy winner from a year ago, when we fall asleep, where do we go? is #11. The teen's debut, don’t smile at me, is #43.

Mickey Guyton’s “Black Like Me” is #21 and her EP Bridges (Capitol Nashville) is #17. Neither were in the Top 200 prior to the show.

Also seeing significant increases from Grammy wins and performances are H.E.R.'s "I Can't Breathe" (new entry, #20), Maren Morris' "The Bones" (+245, #25) and Miranda Lambert's "Bluebird" (+137, #23).

Grammy-winning albums that have entered the Top 50 in the last 24 hours include NasKing’s Disease and James Taylor’s American Standard.

Another CBS show had an effect at iTunes albums as well: CBS Sunday Morning. Michael Kiwanuka’s three albums are in the Top 8—Love & Hate is #1; Kiwanuka is #2—after a profile piece aired on the program. Jimmy “Duck” Holmes’ Grammy-nominated Cypress Grove is #3 following a Sunday Morning piece on the Mississippi bluesman.

Swift, Styles and Black Pumas titles are in Amazon’s Top 10 for physical releases. Styles' “Watermelon Sugar” and Guyton’s “Black Like Me” are Top 5 at digital songs.
