Kings of Leon vie for their sixth U.K. Official Albums Chart #1 with When You See Yourself (RCA). Over on the singles side, TikTok smash “Wellerman” by Polydor's Nathan Evans could claim the top spot this week.
When You See Yourself is outselling the Top 5 combined at the midweek stage and sits 10k+ ahead of the #2 release, Gabrielle’s Do It Again (BMG).
New-wave trailblazers Japan could claim a U.K. chart peak this week with a re-release of ‘80s set Quiet Life (BMG), currently at #3, while Australian rock band DMA’s start at #4 with Live In Brixton (Infectious Music).
There are four more new entries in today's Top 10: the debut album from Glasgow band Mason Hill, Against The Wall (7Hz Productions), at #6, Flock (Fire Records) by Jane Weaver at #8, Arab Strap’s As Days Get Dark (Rock Action) at #9 and Poster Girl (Epic) by Zara Larsson at #10.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, the remix of Evan’s “Wellerman” f/220 Kid and Billen Ted is currently at #1, although Drake’s “What’s Next” (Island) sits just a few hundred units behind at #2. The reigning #1, “drivers license” (Polydor) by Olivia Rodrigo, is at #3 and just 800 sales behind “Wellerman.”
Following the release of Drake’s Scary Hours 2 EP, two more tracks have entered the Top 10: “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” is new at #4 and “Wants and Needs” sits at #5 today.
