Spotify has named Oslo-based girl in red, aka Marie Ulven, its next RADAR U.S. artist. The alt-pop powerhouse has dropped "Serotonin," the FINNEAS-produced lead single from her debut album, if i could make it go quiet, arriving via AWAL 4/30.
"Serotonin" is an arena-sized anthem you can listen to here.
The 22-year old Norweigan singer/songwriter captured ears across the globe with her breakout track, "i wanna be your girlfriend," which has amassed more than 150m streams on Spotify. Her songs have been featured in New Music Friday, Lorem and more than 300 other playlists on the platform.
Acts anointed by RADAR, Spotify's emerging-artist showcase, are entitled to a mini-documentary, playlisting, a Spotify Singles recording, outdoor advertising and social promotion.
"We’ve been closely watching girl in red’s steady ascent over the past few years," said Spotify's Head of Global Hits, Ned Monahan. "She’s built a tight-knit community of devoted fans in a remarkably organic way, based on her self-assured songwriting and deeply personal lyrics—all as an independent artist. We’re beyond excited for her debut full-length and look forward to helping with her global ascent via RADAR."
