Ben Facey has joined the House of Lipman in the newly created post of EVP of Global Marketing & Digital Strategy, EVP/GM Jim Roppo announced. The New York-based Facey will serve as chief liaison for Republic’s global release strategy and rollout, handling international marketing campaigns and digital initiatives, as well as putting another shrimp on the barbie whenever the need arises. He spent the last five years as GM Media & Audience at Universal Music Australia.
Lauding his new team member as a world-class marketer, Roppo noted that Facey is “respected and loved by many of the artists on our roster and will prove invaluable to our continued expansion into the international music community.” “I’ve watched Monte and Avery Lipman and Jim Roppo operate this label very differently than all of the other labels—they’re as hungry as it gets,” Facey offered. “They want victory so intensely it puts a smile on your face to go to work. They’re a winning team with an impeccable roster that keeps growing every day.
“Personally, when you get a call from Republic that they’d love for you to be EVP of Global Marketing, it’s an honor. I told my wife, ‘Challenge is great. Facey’s CV lists stints at Foxtel and Warner Music Australia, following a less lucrative stretch playing in bands Down Under.
