COVER NATION AND KARA DIOGUARDI SING IT FORWARD

Grammy
-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi has partnered with Cover Nation to host her first virtual talent competition, Sing It Forward. Presented by DioGuardi’s nonprofit, Inspired Nation, the competition will raise awareness of and funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Enlisting celebrity mentors such as Ingrid Andress, Lzzy Hale, All Time Low, Charlotte Lawrence, Grandson, Pink Sweat$, Tayla Parx and Why Don’t We, Sing It Forward will grant the winner a summer scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, a $1k cash gift card, one year of free music distribution on Level and more.

“My hope is that Sing It Forward will help artists who are feeling isolated get the feedback and community they are craving from our caring celebrity mentors, who have been in their shoes and want to help elevate their artistry. I am also excited that all monies raised will benefit youth advocating for their mental health through NAMI’s efforts,” said DioGuardi.

“We’re happy to host Kara and Inspired Nation’s event to shine a light on mental health and the benefits of mentorship and guidance within the creative community,” added Scott Cherkin, SVP, Global Consumer Acquisition & Retention, Warner Music Group.

To participate in the competition, candidates must fill out an entry form at CoverNation.com and post an original or cover song on YouTube, TikTok or Instagram with the hashtag #SingItForwardChallenge. Judges will then select eight semifinalists, who will be paired with the celebrity mentors.

Spring It Forward will culminate in a spring livestream hosted by YouTube music maker Kurt Hugo Schneider. For more details, click here.
