GIVĒON, one of the most promising talents at Sylvia Rhone's Epic, is cementing his status as the next breakthrough R&B star, hitting his stride at streaming platforms a month before Music's Biggest Night, when he'll be competing for Best R&B Album with his debut EP, Take Time.
The Long Beach, Calif., artist's “Heartbreak Anniversary” reached new peaks at Spotify and Apple Music this week, getting a Valentine’s Day boost and sticking with listeners. It’s a bona fide hit in Southeast Asia, ascending to #1 in the Philippines on Spotify and #3 and #6 in Malaysia and Singapore, respectively. By Wednesday, it had climbed to its highest points yet on Spotify U.S. (#34) and Spotify Global (#45).
Over at Apple Music, "Heartbreak Anniversary" entered the Top 20 while "Like I Want You" settled into the Top 100. The former is now earning nearly 2m streams per day across the three major DSPs.
GIVĒON stepped into the spotlight with a showstopping feature on Drake’s 2020 joint “Chicago Freestyle.”
Last week he showcased his brand of R&B on NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home Edition); watch the performance below.
