Chynna Phillips and Carnie Wilson are the latest songwriters to sign with Primary Wave. Extending to the copyrights and income interests of Phillips’ music-publishing catalog and Wilson’s writer’s share of her catalog, the deal also includes both songwriters' master royalties.
The acquisition covers songs written by Phillips and Wilson as members of Wilson Phillips, including “You’re in Love,” “Release Me” and their #1 hit, “Hold On,” which was the first single off the group’s Grammy-nominated debut album, Wilson Phillips.
The agreement likewise encompasses name and likeness for both Phillips and Wilson and affords access to the pubco’s marketing and publishing infrastructure—digital, licensing, synchs and film & TV.
“We could not be more thrilled to welcome Chynna and Carnie to our family! They took the pop-music world by storm with their eponymous debut album, filled with their signature harmony-rich sounds,” said Robert Dippold, Partner & President, Digital Strategy for Primary Wave Music. "We look forward to getting creative with their catalog and its hidden gems.”
