DEF JAM UPS LAURO-NORRIS TO SVP

Marisa Lauro-Norris will lead all inter­national marketing activities at Def Jam in her new role as Senior Vice President, International Marketing.

A 15-year veteran at Def Jam, she has led recent successful International campaigns for Justin Bieber, Alessia Cara & Logic and Kanye West. Based in New York, she will report to Jeff Harleston, Interim CEO of Def Jam.

“Marisa is an experienced, thoughtful, valued member of our executive team, known and respected for her passionate stewardship of Def Jam’s brand and artists for the rest of the world over the past decade and a half,” said Harleston.  “With her unique perspective on artist development, and the strength of her long-built relationships within UMG’s powerful inter­national network, Marisa brings unparalleled savvy and leadership to her important role.”

Lauro-Norris began her career at Def Jam in 2004 with an internship. After success with The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Shawn Mendes and others, she was promoted to Vice President in 2014,  overseeing International Marketing.

“The most exciting part of this job is that the way we consume and market music around the world is constantly evolving,” Lauro-Norris said. “I look forward to continuing to find new ways to develop, grow and deliver for our Def Jam artists globally.”
