Songs in films performed by Andra Day, Celeste, H.E.R. and Leslie Odom Jr. received Golden Globe nominations this morning. In four of the five noms, the performers are also the songwriters.
Day co-wrote “Tigress & Tweed” with Raphael Saadiq for The United States vs. Billie Holiday. She also received a Golden Globe nod for Best Actress in a drama.

H.E.R. is one of three writers behind “Fight for You" from Judas and the Black Messiah.
Diane Warren received a nom for “IO SI (Seen)” from the Sophia Loren-starring pic The Life Ahead. Laura Pausini sings it in the film.
Odom performs the one original in One Night in Miami, “Speak Now,” which he co-wrote for his role as Sam Cooke. He also received a supporting-actor nomination.
Celeste’s nom came for for “Hear My Voice,” one of three songs she sings in the Best Picture, Drama, nominee The Trial of the Chicago 7.
In other musician news, Sia received a Best Picture, Musical/Comedy nomination for Music; she is the film's director.
