NUMERO GROUP ADDS TIM ZAWADA

Reissue specialist The Numero Group has hired Tim Zawada as Managing Director as the Chicago-based label moves into rights management.

Zawada had been running his own label, Star Creature Universal Vibrations, in Chicago. Zawada is charged with launching initiatives to extend Numero’s reach and streamline operations.

"I've long admired Tim's Star Creature label—his unique aesthetic and taste give Numero yet another weapon in our A&R arsenal," Numero Co-Founder Ken Shipley said. "Tim's twin attack of business and tech savvy is the piece we've been missing in our pursuit to transform this humble record company into a 21st-century rights-management organization."

Next up for The Numero Group is a boxed set of Blondie recordings from 1974-1982, a 25th anniversary edition of Unwound's Repetition, a boxed set from Pastor T.L. Barrett and records from A.R.T Wilson. Last year the company acquired catalogs from soul singer Syl Johnson and drummer Lenny White, Dick Sutphen's long-running New Age and meditation label Valley of the Sun, Ohio soul and doo-wop label Tammy Records and England's Reflection Records and V4Visions.
