The debut from Polydor rising star Celeste is on course to hit #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. Over on singles, London rapper Fredo looks set to claim this week’s highest new entry.
At the halfway point, Celeste’s Not Your Muse has a lead of 8,000 in chart sales ahead of today’s #2—The Future Bites (Caroline) from art-rocker Steven Wilson.
There’s another buzzy new name in today’s Top 5, Arlo Parks, whose debut, Collapsed in Sunbeams (Transgressive), sits at #3. The most-streamed album of the week so far is Fredo’s second effort, Money Can’t Buy Happiness (Since 93), at #4.
Tottenham rapper Chip is on track for his first solo Top 10 album in almost 10 years with his mixtape Snakes & Ladders (Cash Motto) at #6, and post-punk group Goat Girl are in pursuit of their first Top 10 album as On All Fours (Rough Trade) reaches #7.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Fredo f/Dave’s “Money Talks” starts at #2. It’s his third track in today’s Top 20: “Burner on Deck” f/Pop Smoke and Young Adz is #11 and “Ready” f/Summer Walker sits at #14.
Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” (Polydor) looks set to claim a fourth week at #1 while “Wellerman” (Polydor) from TikTok star Nathan Evans with 220 Kid and Ted is holding on at #3. Shane Codd’s “Get Out My Head” (Polydor) is up two places to #9, and the highest climber of the week after 48 hours is “Friday” (Ministry of Sound) by Riton x Nightcrawlers f/Mufasa, up 14 places to land at #23.
