In honor of Black History Month, Spotify has launched a new capsule, Black History Is Now, full of content celebrating Black culture.
Learn about Black excellence via a collection of podcasts, music, poems and historic speeches from iconic figures like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Angela Davis, Malcolm X, Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, Sam Cooke, Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Marvin Gaye, Maya Angelou and many more, as well as stories, recollections of historic moments and curated playlists—including 2 Chainz's I Love My HBCU, Keyon Harold Sr. and Keyon Harold Jr.'s Black Lives Matter and Keke Palmer's Queen.

Along with this month's special content, Spotify is expanding its hip-hop footprint with the launch of four new playlists: New Joints (a hip-hop version of New Music Friday), Door Knockers (highlighting trailblazing women in hip-hop), Trophy Room and City to City.
Spotify's Head of Urban Carl Chery commented, "We are excited to launch these news playlists as they are rooted in how our listeners engage on the platform. Hip-Hop moves at a fast pace and our team is constantly reevaluating the landscape and keeping our eye on new trends, sounds and scenes to serve our audience."
