DYANA WILLIAMS STAYS HUMAN

Media strategist, music activist and National Museum of African American Music Board Member Dyana Williams is the latest guest to appear on Michael Franti’s Stay Human podcast.

Sharing stories from her childhood in Puerto Rico and Harlem, her years on radio and TV and her mentorship of artists on social media, Williams discusses the importance of recognizing, cultivating and preserving Black music.

She is also a co-author of House Concurrent Bill 509, which officially recognizes the importance of African-American music to global culture, and a co-founder of Black Music Month (June) in partnership with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Kenny Gamble and broadcaster Ed Wright.
