Joel Katz, one of the music industry’s most prominent attorneys, is leaving Greenberg Traurig. He founded the firm's global entertainment and media practice.
"Joel Katz has, by mutual understanding, resigned from the firm as of December 31, 2020,” Greenberg Traurig Executive Chairman Richard A. Rosenbaum wrote in a statement. "We thank Mr. Katz for his contributions over the years and have no further comment at this time."
Katz is expected to hang up his own shingle and will likely take many of his high-profile clients with him.
