DAN WILSON DOES
THE WAVE

Grammy-winning super-songwriter/producer and mensch Dan Wilson (pictured here with pal, longtime booster and HITS Prez Karen Glauber) has inked a deal with Larry Mestel's Primary Wave for his catalog, which includes three Adele hits (notably the global #1 monster “Someone Like You”), smashes for The Chicks (including the gigantic "Not Ready to Make Nice") and Grammy-nominated Alternative radio #1 “Closing Time” by his own band Semisonic.

Of course, those are just a few of the biggest cuts he’s worked on—Dan has written or co-penned songs recorded by Taylor Swift, John Legend, Dierks Bentley, P!nk, Josh Groban, Chris Stapleton, Weezer, Leon Bridges and many other artists in multiple genres. Thanks to a producer credit, he shared in Adele’s Album of the Year Grammy for 21.

When Adele accepted her Pop Performance Grammy for “Someone Like You,” she proclaimed, “I want to thank Dan Wilson, who wrote this song with me. My life changed when I wrote this song and I felt it before anyone even heard it.”

“The musical art that Dan has created as a songwriter is undeniable,” asserted PW prez Justin Shukat, noting the breadth of Wilson’s compositional impact and adding that he and his team “are honored and thrilled to have him join Primary Wave.” Associate Director of Creative Matt Herzfeld added that Wilson’s “honest and original songs have been the soundtrack for the highs and lows of so many lives around the world.”
