Paul McCartney is heading for his first solo U.K. Official Albums #1 in more than 30 years as McCartney III (EMI) registered almost 25k sales over the weekend. Over on singles, YouTuber LadBaby is headed for a Christmas #1.
The third chapter in a trilogy that started 50 years ago, McCartney’s 18th solo studio album is trailed by Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s Together at Christmas (Decca) at #2 today and Taylor Swift’s evermore (EMI) at #3.
Eminem’s #1 album Music To Be Murdered By (Polydor) is on track for a Top 40 return at #6 following the surprise release of the album’s "B Side" deluxe edition.
On the U.K.'s Official Singles midweeks, LadBaby has already scored 80k with charity release “Don’t Stop Me Eatin’,” which could record one of the biggest opening weeks of the year. Should it hold onto its midweek peak, the track, released to aid food bank charity The Trussell Trust, will be LadBaby’s third Christmas chart-topper.
Jess Glynne is on course for her highest-charting single in two years with Amazon Music exclusive “This Christmas,” which climbs seven places to #2.
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (Columbia) is the U.K.’s most-streamed track of the week—it’s #3—followed by Wham!’s “Last Christmas” (RCA) at #4.
Liam Gallagher could be heading for his first solo Top 10 single with festive charity release “All You’re Dreaming Of” (Warner Records) at #5, while Justin Bieber’s Amazon Original version of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” is currently #7.
