A surprise release from Eminem has jumped to #1 at iTunes, edging out Paul McCartney’s heavily promoted McCartney III (Capitol). The 16-track Music to Be Murdered By: Side B (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) is #1 (explicit) and #4 (clean) at iTunes and Top 30 at Apple Music.
McCartney’s III, recorded during the lockdown, is his third album on which he played all of the instruments. Arriving 50 years after McCartney and four decades after McCartney II, it sits at #2 on a Flipover Friday sparse with new releases.
Too $hort & E-40’s Ain’t Gone Do It/Terms and Conditions (Trunk/Heavy on the Grind/3T/Empire) is #16; Jordan Feliz’s Say It (Centricity) is #18; and Maggie Rogers’ Notes From the Archive: Recordings 2011-2016 (Debay) is #20.
At iTunes songs, a novelty record from Blighty, LadBaby’s self-released “Don’t Stop Me Eatin’” takes a journey to #1, followed by Lily Rose’s Tuesday release, “Villain” (Black Blocks). Noah Schnacky’s “Every Girl I Ever Loved” (BMLG) is #13.
On the streaming side, Sheff G’s Wednesday drop, Proud of Me Now (Winners Circle/RCA), is #8; J.I the Prince of N.Y’s Hood Life Krisis, Vol. 3 (G*STARR/IGA) is #19; and the new Eminem set is #26 and rising.
