BBC PICKS 10 TO BREAK IN '21

The BBC Music Sound of 2021 long list has been revealed, with UMG and Warner counting three acts apiece, while Sony has one and the independent sector counts three.

The list was compiled by a panel of industry experts and alumni artists like Billie Eilish and Stormzy.

Tipped for success next year from UMG U.K.’s camp are two EMI artists—eclectic pop act Bree Runway and R&B singer Greentea Peng—and Island band The Lathums. Warner Music U.K. has Warner Records singer/songwriter/producer GRIFF and rapper Pa Salieu as well as Parlophone rapper Dutchavelli. Rapper-singer BERWYN is Sony’s entry.

Amongs the independent acts are Chess Club singer/songwriter Alfie Templeman, AWAL act girl in red—a Norwegian singer/songwriter/producer—and singer/songwriter Holly Humberstone, who is currently releasing through Platoon.

The countdown to the Top 5 will commence Sunday, 1/3, and continue throughout the week, with the winner announced on 1/7.
