THE BRITISH ARE HERE: JOEL CORRY

British DJ/producer and Atlantic U.K. signing Joel Corry claimed 2020’s breakout hit with “Head & Heart” f/MNEK, which spent six weeks at the top of the singles chart over the summer — it was the longest-running consecutive #1 of the year.

“Head & Heart” followed Top 10 successes “Sorry” (#6 in 2019) and “Lonely” (#4 in April). To date Corry has racked up more than 350m streams worldwide, claims 15m monthly listeners on Spotify and enjoys radio support across Radio 1, Capital and Radio 2. Live, he’s been the main tour support for Sigala and Jax Jones and has a debut Ibiza residency set for summer 2021.

Corry is a relatively new signing for Atlantic, which licensed “Sorry” after he'd made a name for himself as a DJ on the resort club circuit. (He’s also a KISS FM DJ and reality TV star, having appeared on the MTV series Geordie Shore.) The track, which peaked at #6, is the most-Shazamed song in a 24-hour period in the U.K., with 41k tags.

Kevin Christian Blair, Senior A&R Manager at Asylum and Atlantic U.K., says of Corry, "He has an incredible ability to create emotive and anthemic dance music that goes on to become commercially successful, simultaneously keeping his ear to the club scene and building connections through DJing and his KISS FM show.”

“Lonely” has helped open further European markets, including Belgium, Ireland, Hungary and Poland, while “Head & Heart” is off to a good start internationally after having landed in the Top 10 on Spotify’s global chart. “We’re also giving it a big push in the U.S.,” Blair adds. “Now that it’s landed in the Top 50, we're seeing radio take more interest and start to really get behind it. The key to this track has been to move quickly as it's traveled around the world, given the reactive nature of the record.”

“Head & Heart” will be worked into the end of the year, and Blair promises a few big songs and collaborations on the horizon. “We’ll also be building out Joel's brand and growing his catalog of quality hit records, which feel ahead of the curve,” he concludes.

Corry’s Atlantic U.K. team also includes Tristian Parsons, Damian Christian, Ed Howard and Briony Turner; Adam Griffin and Rob Davies at Perfect Havoc are Atlantic’s label partners. Corry's managed by Charlie Arme and the Tileyard family. Dougie Bruce and Tom Cater look after him at Universal Publishing. His booking agent is Nick Mathews.
