KING OF POP #1 EARNER AMONG
DEAD CELEBS

Michael Jackson tops Forbes’ annual list of dead celebrities, having taken in a cool $48m during the 12-month period ending 10/1/20. “Jackson’s Mijac Music catalog, which includes tunes by Elvis and Aretha Franklin, and a long-term deal with Sony, account for more than 70% of his earnings,” reads the explanatory copy.

MJ’s tally is $15m greater than that of runner-up Dr. Seuss. Kudos to estate co-executor John Branca, who dropped a very large dime once again on behalf of his late client.

No fewer than eight of the 13 dead celebs listed come from the musical universe, as you’ll see immediately below.

  1. Michael Jackson ($48m)
  2. Dr. Seuss ($33m)
  3. Charles M. Schultz ($32.5m)
  4. Arnold Palmer ($25m)
  5. Elvis Presley ($23m)
  6. Kobe Bryant ($20m)
  7. Juice WRLD ($15m)
  8. Bob Marley ($14m)
  9. John Lennon ($13m)
  10. Prince ($10m)
  11. Freddie Mercury ($9m)
  12. George Harrison ($8.5m)
