DOLLY TO DELIVER AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT TO AMERICA

Dolly Parton will host the seasonal special A Holly Dolly Christmas, on Sunday, 12/6 (8:30-9:30pm ET/8-9pm PT) on CBS.

This American treasure is just what we need near the end of a brutal year, as she brings some much-needed joy and holiday cheer to households from coast to coast.

“I am so proud to be a part of the CBS family this holiday season with my new Christmas special,” reads her quote in the 11/11 announcement.

“When Dolly Parton calls and tells you she wants to do a Christmas show, you don’t hesitate,” said Jack Sussman, the network’s head of music, specials and live events. “A special with the multi-Grammy-winning, prolific songwriting, epic live performer of all time? She had us at ‘hello.’ There’s only one Dolly Parton, and we’re so excited to be bringing her to viewers this holiday season.”

The beloved entertainer will perform traditional hymns and holiday classics on a candlelit set, interspersed with songs from her new holiday album of the same name, which came out 10/2 on Butterfly/12Tone and bowed in the Top 15. A Holly Dolly Christmas is her first holiday album in 30 years.

The LP was simultaneously released with the visual memoir and annotated songbook Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics.

Dolly, by the way, has quietly donated $1 million to coronavirus vaccine research.
