BEE GEES DOC HITS HBO SATURDAY

Check out the New York Times profile on Barry Gibb, wherein he discusses his catalog of hits, his love of country music and the folk/bluegrass collaboration album he's releasing in January via Capitol; GREENFIELDS: The Gibb Brothers Songbook Vol. 1 features duets with Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell, Dolly Parton, Allison Krauss, Brandi Carlile, Keith Urban and more.

Frank Marshall’s documentary The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart will debut 12/12 on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

An official selection of the 2020 Telluride Film Festival, the film follows the Gibb brothers’ rise and how they negotiated the vagaries of the ever-shifting music business and the complexities of working with family. It’s the first authorized film on The Bee Gees, hitmakers in the 1960s who became the face of disco after the phenomenal success of Saturday Night Fever in the late 1970s.

Marshall also produced the film, with Nigel Sinclair and Jeanne Elfant Festa, part of the team behind George Harrison: Living in the Material World, and Mark Monroe. The motion picture is a Polygram Entertainment presentation of a Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures production in association with Diamond Docs. UMPG’s Jody Gerson and Capitol Music Group’s Steve Barnett are among the executive producers.

Featuring interviews with eldest brother Barry and archival interviews with the late twins Robin and Maurice, the film features never-before-seen footage of recording sessions, concert performances, television appearances and home movies, as well as interviews with Eric Clapton, Nick Jonas, Chris Martin, Justin Timberlake and others.
