iHEART PUMPS UP VOTING EFFORTS

Heading into the final week before Election Day, iHeartMedia is promoting a robust series of programing that will include radio and digital PSAs, on-air interviews, podcasts, a live broadcast and several local activations to encourage voter participation.

This outreach is the culmination of iHeart's 2020 voter-participation efforts with When We All Vote, The National Urban League, Democracy Works and Every Vote Counts.

“iHeart is committed to serving listeners and communities across the country and ensuring they have the information they need to vote in the upcoming election,” iHeartMedia chairman and CEO Bob Pittman said. “Our partnership with leading civic-engagement organizations, including the National Urban League, Democracy Works, NAACP, Global Citizen, When We All Vote and more, has allowed us to leverage their expertise in reaching voters in a very thoughtful way. Additionally, our creation of ‘Why I’m Voting’ has allowed us to represent a wide range of voices encouraging everyone to be sure to vote.”

Here are the deets:

A new When We All Vote PSA voiced by co-chair and former First Lady Michele Obama is airing across more than 560 iHeartMedia radio stations. iHeart will promote When We All Vote Together Early Vote Weeks of Action, which is mounting activations near early vote polling places, through 10/31. And Crystal Carson, Vice President of Communications and Culture for When We All Vote, will appear on iHeartRadio’s national long-form community-affairs show.

iHeartMedia is a presenting media partner for Every Vote Counts: A Celebration of Democracy, a nationally televised and streamed event that will air on iHeartMedia radio stations and be available via app on 10/29, starting at 9pm.

iHeart radio stations have been supporting the Urban League’s #ReclaimYourVote, a social-change campaign committed to harnessing Black collective power and increasing Black participation in the 2020 election. National Urban League president and CEO Marc H. Morial will appear on iHeartRadio’s community-affairs show to discuss the importance of Black voter turnout.

In response to the additional voting challenges caused by COVID-19, iHeart teamed up with Democracy Works to address state-specific rules and regulations to ensure that all ballots are submitted properly and counted.

iHeart will continue to air PSAs pushing listeners to voter.tips/iheart and local state websites for details on early voting and criteria for absentee voting through Election Day.
