BILLIE GOT ACTIVE AT STATE-OF-THE-ART CONCERT

On 10/24 teen icon Billie Eilish performed her first concert, albeit a virtual one, since the March cancellation of her tour. During her WHERE DO WE GO? livestream, the Darkroom/Interscope superstar promoted going green, discussed the forthcoming sophomore album she's been working on with collaborator/producer/brother FINNEAS and urged fans to vote. The show ended with Eilish hammering home the latter point: "Vote, for God's sakes," she exclaimed, just before closing the show with her Grammy-winning smash, "bad guy."

The concert featured state-of-the-art XR (augmented/virtual/mixed reality) effects. Eilish combined her usual deep, dark silhouettes with 3D figures including a giant spider, a shark, underground and outer-space landscapes and fan faces similar to the NBA's digital crowd.

Eilish also made it a point to acknowledge the hurting touring industry. "It's important that you know people are losing their jobs," she explained to viewers. "So it's important that we do this"; a portion of ticket sales from the concert was donated to Crew Nation, Live Nation's COVID-19 fund, which supports those affected by the touring halt.

Fans were able to chat throughout the show, and buying merch at this concert proved to be much easier than waiting in crowded lines at a venue—the button for her online merch store was adjacent to the chat sidebar.

Despite the bleakness of the present landscape, the 18-year-old artist offered a hopeful vision to her fans and the world: "During quarantine I think I realized that the only place I’ve ever felt myself, like I belong, is in front of you guys and with you guys. That will happen one day. If we vote the orange man out, maybe we’ll get to see each other again. I’m not even joking at all."
