AC/DC LIGHTS UP THE "DARK"

Where does one find comfort in these painful times? Where is the joy in the familiar, when so much of our daily life has become strange?

We are delighted to report that Columbia rock legends AC/DC have returned with a new song and video, "Shot in the Dark," ahead of an 11/13 full-length titled Power Up, and it is exactly what we didn't know we needed.

The Aussie rockers reunited with ace producer Brendan O'Brien for the 12-track set, and if "Shot" is any indication, they have not messed with their winning formula one iota. And why would they? You wouldn't want Jack Daniels to suddenly taste different, would you? Those sizzling power chords, those thundering beats, that banshee wailing—these are the ingredients of ecstatic release, however momentary, from our quotidian angst. Turn it up. (The stirring video was directed by longtime helmer David Mallet.)

The band also staged a "global premiere event" on 10/26. If you've read this far, take further pleasure in the foreknowledge that the deluxe physical edition of Power Up will be a dream come true for collectors, with a neon sign, built-in speaker and more.
