RUSSELL TO LEAD SONY/ATV PRODUCTION MUSIC

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has centralized its two production-music divisions—Extreme Music and EMI Production Music—and named Russell Emanuel the centralized entity's President & CEO.

The founder and, for 22 years, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Extreme Music and Bleeding Fingers Music, Emanuel will oversee Sony/ATV’s global production-music business. Sony/ATV purchased Extreme Music in 2008.

EMI Production Music is home to such libraries as KPM, Music House and Juice, whereas Extreme Music represents a roster that includes Quincy Jones, Hans Zimmer and Rodney Jerkins, to name a few. Extreme Music and Bleeding Fingers are known for film and television scores, having provided music to The Simpsons, Apollo Mission to the Moon, Master Chef and Planet Earth: A Celebration, among many others.

“Russell is undeniably one of the best in the business, and I’m pleased to recognize his expertise and influence with this new leadership role,” Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO Jon Platt said. “His idea to integrate these two successful production-music entities will further support our composers, clients and catalogs on a global scale.”
