RAINMAKERS 2020:
COMING SOON

Rainmakers 2020, our latest collection of stories about top industry players, is coming soon. Among the careers profiled are those of Michelle Jubelirer, Tom Poleman and Scott Borchetta.

Capitol Music Group COO Jubelirer has emerged as one of the star execs of her generation. The first pick for Steve Barnett’s Tower team, she joined CMG in 2013 after a highly successful run as an artist attorney. She’s been a key exponent for CMG’s acts and helped navigate its pivot to the streaming/hip-hop-driven economy. A passionate feminist and progressive, she has been a key industry voice for social justice and inclusion.

Poleman is a quintessential radio guy. A student of the game since his KC101 days, he developed his chops at Houston’s KRBE before moving to NYC’s Z100. He’s played a major role in changing the dynamic between radio and labels, helping to create a culture of partnerships—which carried over to his huge role at iHeart. Giving back has always been in his fabric; from clean water programs in Uganda to Musicians on Call, he walks the walk.

Borchetta, a self-described Valley skate punk, followed in the family business as a promo man, pursuing the art of the possible. Gigs at MTM Records, MCA and DreamWorks Nashville paved the way for the promo-boss gig at UMG Nashville. But his entrepreneurial drive led him to build the mighty indie Big Machine. He and wife Sandi support the Neonatal ICU at Vanderbilt’s Children's Hospital, the Music Has Value Fund (providing instruments to students) and more, even making hand sanitizer at their distillery. He shows no sign of taking his foot off the gas.
