INGROOVES INKS DEAL WITH UBIQUITY

Ingrooves Music Group
has inked Ubiquity Records, its sub-label Luv N’ Haight and CuBop to a global distribution deal.

The first releases under the auspices of the deal include new music from Chico Mann, a.k.a. Marcos Garcia, with a cover of Fela Kuti’s “Sorrow, Tears & Blood” out on Friday and a full-length album, Double Life, on 11/20. Mike James Kirkland and Cold Diamond & Mink, meanwhile, will team up to release a pair of singles, “Closer” and “Stay, Don’t Go.”

Amy Dietz, EVP/GM of Ingrooves Music Group, said she was thrilled to welcome Ubiquity. For his part, Ubiquity founder Michael McFadin remarked, “We're looking forward to working with the Ingrooves team to expand our footprint around the world."

Home to a catalog of nearly 10,000 songs, Ubiquity Records was founded in 1990 by McFadin out of the back of his shop, Groove Merchant Records, which the Beastie Boys notably name-check in their song “Professor Booty.”
