REPUBLIC REIGNS OVER THE LOCKDOWN

Republic has been the ruler of the album charts during the lockdown and the label is set to claim its 15th week at #1 in the 30 weeks of the pandemic-related shutdown.

Republic has a share in both albums competing for #1 this week, Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars, Aim for The Moon and 21 Savage & Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II.

Since the week ending 3/19, Republic has had the #1 album for 14 weeks, the #2 album for 12 weeks (they’ll log in another one come Friday), and the #1 R&B/Hip Hop album for 15 weeks. The label’s releases have been tops at streaming for 13 weeks and sales for 10 during the period.

Besides the two battling for #1 this week, the albums that have delivered the goods for Monte Lipman & Co. are The Weeknd’s After Hours, Nav’s Good Intentions, and Taylor Swift’s folklore.
