Spotify has begun testing an audio experience that unites music tracks and spoken word commentary. Among the initial offerings are shows titled Murder Ballads and Conspiracy Theories.
Listeners can explore and interact with the music in each episode much as they would in a playlist. Spotify is also making it possible for anyone to create a show in this new format using Anchor. The tool is available today in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.
In addition to Murder Ballads and Conspiracy Theories, the Spotify Original Shows launching today are Happy Hour with DJ Shangela, 60 Songs That Explain the '90s, Our Love Song, Rock This With Allison Hagendorf, and 10 Songs That Made Me, which debuts with T.I.
In a related story, nobody is interested in our proposed hybrid series The History of HITS Hold Music.
