TikTok is still available to download and use after a federal judge blocked the Trump administration’s order to ban the app as of Sunday.
The preliminary injunction issued Sunday by Carl Nichols of United States District Court for the District of Columbia allows Apple and Google to continue to offer TikTok in its app stores. The Trump ban was supposed to take effect at midnight Sunday.
The injunction does not currently affect the new set of restrictions set to take effect in November.
“We will continue defending our rights for the benefit of our community and employees,” TikTok said in a statement. “At the same time, we will also maintain our ongoing dialogue with the government to turn our proposal, which the president gave his preliminary approval to last weekend, into an agreement.”
