CHUCK D, BALLER

Following the Lakers’ crushing of the Nuggets to go up three games to one in the Western Conference NBA finals, Public Enemy’s Chuck D dropped in virtually on TNT’s Inside the NBA.

Barkley, Kenny the Jet and Shaq all turned into fanboys—Chuck B even called PE his favorite group of all-time—and then got deep into questions about racism, the power of music to be relevant from generation to generation and the need to continue to “Fight the Power.” Chuck D also has a new Def Jam album to talk about, What You Gonna Do When the Grid Goes Down?

“Beware of the government’s tricks,” Chuck D said as the interview shifted to politics from music. “If you’re not woke, wake up.”
