THE RECORDING ACADEMY P&E WING SHINES A SONIC SPOTLIGHT

The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing is gearing up to host its exclusive webinar, Sonic Spotlight: Hip-Hop and R&B Hitmakers. Featuring some of the top producers and engineers in the scene, panelists will share origin stories and experience along with career advice.

Premiering on Facebook on 9/24 at 12pm PT, panelists include acclaimed engineer Marcella Araica (Beyoncé, Madonna, Usher), multi-platinum engineer Chris Dennis (Roddy Ricch), producer DJ K.i.D (DaBaby, Quavo, Stunna), Grammy-winning producer/rapper Hit-Boy (Drake, Jay-Z, Rihanna) and Grammy-winning engineer MixedByAli (Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, SZA).

The event will be moderated by award-winnng producer/engineer/singer/songwriter Ebonie Smith (Cardi B, Hamilton cast recording, Sturgill Simpson), and kicks off with an introduction from multi-Grammy nominated producer/songwriter/engineer Ivan Barias, who is also an Academy Trustee and Co-Chair of the P&E Wing Steering Committee.

"As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our community engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to share the perspectives of these important hitmakers via this exclusive webcast," said Maureen Droney, Sr. Managing Director of the Producers & Engineers Wing. "We invite everyone to tune in to hear from these talented individuals and get a front-row seat for their stories and work methods."
