Singer/songwriter Noelle Scaggs recently launched the Diversify The Stage initiative to direct more touring business opportunities to BIPOC, women and LGBTQ+ people across all stages.
As the co-lead vocalist of Fitz and the Tantrums, Scaggs has been a staple in the R&B and alt music scene since the early 2000s and now, she’s making bold moves to combat the lack of diversity behind the scenes.
The initiative allows industry professionals to come together and establish inclusive hiring practices while expanding opportunities to more people in live music events and touring industries.
“We have the power to create the demand for more diverse workforces. We have the power to place pressure on businesses and those who staff our tours to evolve and hold them accountable for making inclusivity a quantifiable action, not just a statement,” said Scaggs in a New York Times article.
While the songstress has been a part of the neo-soul/alt-pop band Fitz and the Tantrums since 2008, she’s also being shopped as a solo artist. Reach out to manager Adam “Ash” Harrison at Full Stop for more on that.
