Celebrating six months of Spotify’s RADAR, the platform is now launching a new global hub to spotlight the emerging artists program.
Announced on 9/17, the hub will live on the platform with a full lineup of RADAR artists as well as their newest releases and 22 region-and-genre specific playlists with additional artists chosen by Spotify’s editorial team. Spotify is also premiering new RADAR France, Canada, U.S. Country and U.S. Latin playlists.
Since its debut in March, RADAR has showcased over 22 global sister programs and 115 RADAR-affiliated emerging artists ranging from Brazil, Japan, Germany, New Zealand and more.
With artists like Alaina Castillo, J.I. The Prince of NY, Young T & Bugsey, Rina Sawayama, Lous and the Yakouza, Giant Rooks, August Wahh and the latest U.K. addition beabadoobee, among others, RADAR artists have collectively garnered 2b+ streams, 100m+ hours of listening, 112m+ listeners across 92 countries, plus more.
"The launch of the Global RADAR Hub is the perfect illustration of how our editorial teams collaborate to build up-and-coming artists from all over the world,” says Ned Monahan, Spotify’s Head of Global Hits. “We hope this will be an easy new way for fans to discover artists from outside of their home countries and for artists to begin to develop a global fanbase.”
