The Rolling Stones have leapt ahead of Declan McKenna to secure this week’s U.K. Official Albums #1 with a reissue of Goats Head Soup (Polydor). Over on singles, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion claim a second week at the top.
Goats Head Soup tops the chart today as it did back in 1973. In doing so, The Stones have set a new record as the first band in Official Chart history to score a #1 across six different decades. The album finished just 800 sales ahead of McKenna, who lands a personal best with Zeros (Columbia) at #2 today.
Elsewhere, Billy Ocean’s One World (Sony) charts at #14, followed by Hurts, whose Faith (Lento) enters at #21. Big Sean’s Detroit 2 (UMG) lands at #24 and 6ix9ine’s TattleTales (Create Music Group) is also new at #27.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “WAP” (Atlantic) by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion remains at #1 with a lead of 12,000 sales. Overall this week, it racked up 62,000 chart sales, including 8.1m streams.
“Mood” by 24kgoldn f/Iann Dior (Black Butter) moves up two places to #2, while Headie One reaches a new career peak with “Ain’t It Different” f/AJ Tracey and Stormzy (Relentless) lifting two to #3.
DJ Paul Woolford’s collaboration with Diplo, “Looking For Me” ft/Kareen Lomax (Ministry of Sound) ascends to #8 and Miley Cyrus returns to the Top 10 with “Midnight Sky” (RCA) rising seven to #10.
