A&E has announced a special TV premiere of Biography: I Want My MTV. Airing on Tuesday (9/8) at 9pm ET, the Saboteur Media production depicts MTV from its early days as a music-video broadcasting network to the role it plays in American youth culture today.
The doc, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, features interviews with the network’s founders and VJs, journalists and artists including Sting, Pat Benatar, Billy Idol, Annie Lennox, Nancy Wilson, Fab Five Freddy and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.
Additionally, the doc includes rare archival footage and outtakes like an unseen interview with the late David Bowie. Biography: I Want My MTV was directed and produced by Tyler Measom and Patrick Waldrop.
