SiriusXM will be collaborating with the Memphis-based Blues Foundation to broaden the content and reach of B.B. King’s Bluesville channel.
The Blues Foundation will expand the featured programming to include exclusive performances, artist interviews and archival content. B.B. King’s Bluesville will exclusively air the 2020 Virtual Blues Music Awards on Friday at 3pm ET.
Held earlier this year, the awards feature at-home performances from nominees Tommy Castro, Walter Trout, Billy Branch and others plus special guest appearances by Bonnie Raitt, Bettye LaVette, Robert Cray, Elvin Bishop, Steve Cropper and others.
The Blues Foundation has approximately 4,000 individual members and more than 170 affiliated local blues societies. The Foundation’s events include the Blues Hall of Fame, Keeping the Blues Alive Awards, and the International Blues Challenge. They recently established the COVID-19 Blues Musician Emergency Relief Fund to provide financial support blues musicians.
