VMA BUBBLES
FLOAT ON (UPDATE)

We've updated this story with corrections—we're allowed a mulligan, right?

Less than a week away from MTV's 2020 VMAs, the event still has more question marks than answers. While they confirmed that Roddy Ricch and J Balvin have been pulled from the performers list, other booked artists and their teams remain suspicious over compliance of safety.

Making matters worse, a timely performance of "WAP" by Cardi B with Megan Thee Stallion was on the table but couldn't get finalized. MTV will announce more performers this week, which could include Taylor Swift (a now-deleted New York Post article reported Swift as part of the bubble).

UPDATE: As we reported earlier, superstars Harry Styles and Dua Lipa both declined to perform on the VMAs, but their decisions were made before nominations were finalized. Funny enough, the VMAs just added a new "Song of Summer" category featuring Dua and Styles as nominees.

As the VMAs pick up the baton and race toward the finish line, consider their production bubble troubles. The NBA bubble has worked nearly to perfection due to the greatest athletes in the world showing great discipline by abiding to strict rules. A hotel open to the public, with multiple artist camps and crews attempting to hold the integrity of their bubble, seems like a far cry from the NBA model.
