Billie Eilish railed against Donald Trump in her speech during Wednesday’s Democratic National Convention, encouraging people to vote. “The only way to be certain of our future is to make it ourselves.”
The urgency she projected foreshadowed galvanizing addresses by Barack Obama and VP nominee Kamala Harris.
In promoting Joe Biden’s candidacy, Eilish said “You don’t need me to tell you things are a mess. Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about. We need leaders who will solve problems like climate change and COVID, not deny them; leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality.”
She then performed her latest song, “My Future,” with her brother Finneas backing her. Democrats definitely use iTunes: The Darkroom/Interscope release is in the Top 10 this morning.
