Warner Chappell Music has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with producer/songwriter Section 8.
A key collaborator of Lil Baby's, Section 8 co-wrote and co-produced "The Bigger Picture," which has become an important piece of hip-hop culture linked to the protests following the murder of George Floyd. It was the most streamed protest song in June, topped Apple Music's song chart and was Lil Baby's highest charting single ever.
He also worked on gold certified "We Paid" f/42 Dugg, which cracked the Top 10 on the Hot 100 this summer.
Section 8 also helped write and produce "Get Money," "Humble" and "Social Distancing" from Lil Baby's #1 album, the biggest album of 2020 so far, My Turn.
Ryan Press, President of A&R, U.S. at WCM shared: "This is Section 8's moment, and I couldn't be more proud to be side-by-side with him for the ride. As one of the best young producers in the game, he teamed up with Lil Baby to create the most important hip-hop cultural anthem of the year. This is only the beginning, and I can’t wait to see what he does next at Warner Chappell."
Section 8 added: "The decision to join Warner Chappell was an easy one. Ryan (that’s my guy) and the whole crew just get it—they really believe in their writers and producers and put their full support behind them. I know we’re going to create some powerful music together."
