The executive who signed and developed Alamo Records’ Rod Wave has landed a deal with the label for his own imprint, Gold Music Group. It coincides with the release of Deluxe Edition of Wave’s latest album.
Mateo Dorado, who joined Alamo Records in 2017, signed Wave as well as Brickboydior. He manages the rapper Comethazine and has also worked closely with Interscope Latin executive Nir Seroussi.
“Mateo is a talented and driven executive whose work has already made a huge impact here at Alamo,” said Alamo Founder and CEO Todd Moscowitz. “We expect Mateo to do even bigger things with Gold Music Group and look forward to helping him develop and nurture the next generation of artists within the Alamo/Geffen Records family.”
The Gold Music signing is being announced as the deluxe edition of Wave’s Pray 4 Love is released, soaring immediately to #1 at Apple Music. The album, released four months after the original, now includes 11 new tracks and 10 videos.
