Joie “The Babe” Manda and Todd “The Mule” Moscowitz have emerged as one of the dynamic duos of the biz. Between them, the pair is responsible for many of the biggest recent successes at John Janick’s Interscope. Manda has driven such giants as DaBaby, Juice WRLD, Lil Mosey and Moneybagg Yo. Mosco’s Alamo has furnished several new breakouts, including Trevor Daniel, Rod Wave, blackbear, Lil Durk and Smokepurpp.
The Mule spent early tenures at Rush Communications, Violator Management (where he worked with the likes of Missy Elliott and 50 Cent) and Def Jam. The Babe oversaw the career of Funkmaster Flex and served as an A&R consultant at Steve Rifkind’s LOUD (which had huge success with the Wu-Tang Clan and more) before joining Asylum, where he was hired by Mosco in 2004. The pair had hits together with Gucci Mane, Meek Mill and Mike Jones before they moved to Warner (after the firing of Tom Whalley) in 2010. Joie joined Def Jam as Prez two years later, while Mosco co-founded 300. In 2013, Janick hired Joie. In late 2016, Mosco inked a JV deal for his company (then called Cold Heat) with UMG; renamed Alamo, the imprint was fitted to Janick’s formidable Interscope machine, and the Babe and the Mule were teamed up yet again.
