Sony/ATV Music Publishing has received BMI’s Publisher of the Year award. Presented virtually via the 68th annual Pop Awards, Sony/ATV’s Khalid received the Songwriter of the Year award for penning “Beautiful People,” “Better,” “Eastside” and “Talk.”
Sony/ATV’s winning songwriters included Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Sam Smith, Camila Cabello and Kevin Jonas. Among its 25 winning songs were “Shallow” by Lady Gaga, “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco, “I Don’t Care” by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, and “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi.
“We’re grateful for the Sony/ATV songwriters—without your hard work and fantastic creativity, an award like this is not possible,” said Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO Jon Platt. “I also would like to thank the entire BMI team for honoring us and creating such a powerful platform to celebrate songwriters.”
