QC RAPPER MARLO KILLED

Atlanta rapper Marlo, who has had a growing career since signing with Quality Control Music in 2017, was shot and killed west of downtown Atlanta on Saturday night. He was 30.

According to The New York Times, the Atlanta Police Department responded to a single-vehicle accident on I-285 around 11:30pm and discovered the rapper, born Rudolph Johnson, dead from gunshots.

Marlo has release five mixtapes with QC, including his debut, 2 the Hard Way with Lil Baby. This year’s 1st and 3rd featured appearances by Future, Young Thug and Gucci Mane. He had a cult following in the South and was gaining respect from other more established rappers. On Instagram, Lil Yachty wrote that the two had been working in the studio until 4am the night before.

Quality Control Music executives paid tribute to Johnson on Instagram. COO Kevin "Coach K" Lee wrote "You always had a smile on your face when we talked. If only everybody could’ve seen the pureness of your heart. This is such hard thing to do RIP Marlo. Prayers to your kids & family."

CEO Pierre "P" Thomas posted: “So Much Potential That The World Didn’t Get A Chance To See. Love You Bro. It’s Really Hard For Me To Say RIP."

An Atlanta native, has was raised in Bowen Homes, one of Atlanta’s most infamous crime-ridden housing projects.
