Midway through a year unlike any other, Lil Baby has emerged as 2020’s breakthrough superstar. His sophomore album, My Turn (Quality Control/Motown/Capitol), just passed The Weeknd’s After Hours—which had its own four-week run at #1—as the year’s biggest album. Not surprisingly, Baby’s LP is the most-streamed (overall audio/video) project in 2020 so far and is now #1 on our YTD chart.

Now, as we head into the third quarter, My Turn isn’t slowing down. It’s on pace for a fourth consecutive #1 as well as a fifth non-consecutive chart-topping week. He has few competitors on the horizon; tour-bundled albums are basically obsolete for the remainder of the year, and many arena-level acts aren’t risking an album release based purely on sales and streams. (That said, keep an eye on the release from the late Pop Smoke, which appears poised to challenge Baby's rule.)
