MAJOR SHAKEUP
AT WME

WME has shaken up its music department, as Kirk Sommer and Scott Clayton are joined by U.K. leader Lucy Dickins as Co-Heads of Music, with Marc Geiger exiting and Sara Newkirk Simon moving to consultant status at parent company Endeavor.

Sommer, a principal and partner at WME, has a client list that includes Adele, Sam Smith and The Killers; Clayton’s clients include Dead & Co., John Mayer, Kings of Leon and My Morning Jacket. He joined WME two years ago after 17 years at CAA. Adele agent Dickins came aboard as WME U.K. head in 2019; her other clients include Mumford & Sons, Rex Orange County, James Blake and Bryan Ferry.

Geiger had been with William Morris since 2003, overseeing WME’s music department since 2009 and showing considerable foresight in building it, demonstrating his cred in the rock world and forward thinking in his embrace of EDM and streaming. Newkirk Simon, who joined in 2006, had been Co-Head of the Music Department with Sommer since 2016.
