BLACK MUSIC MONTH:
ON THE COVER

Lil Baby and Tyler, The Creator grace the dual covers of our brand new Black Music Month print edition. In the midst of anguish and upheaval over police brutality and systemic racism, Atlanta’s Lil Baby—one of the year’s biggest artists—has produced a powerful new track, “The Bigger Picture,” that frames this heartbreaking era in a bracingly human way. Grammy-winning artist Tyler, meanwhile, has challenged convention at every turn and has helped to expand the definition of what hip-hop can say and do. Both creators underscore how mighty a cultural force the genre has become—and will continue to be.
