CHART STORY: ANOTHER FUTURE #1

Freebandz/Epic’s Future lands at #1 on the HITS Top 50, with High Off Life posting 145k in sales. The modern rap icon earns his sixth consecutive #1 studio album debut and his highest first-week total since his 2015 breakthrough, DS2. On arrival, the new LP—anchored by the early-2020 smash “Life Is Good” featuring Drakewas certified gold by the RIAA.

Top prospect Polo G clocks in at #2 with his sophomore set, The Goat (Columbia). With 97k, he scores his highest-charting bow and a career best in sales.

Holding strong inside the Top five at #4 is QC/Capitol/Motown’s Lil Baby. The young star has yet to drop below #6 since My Turn debuted in the beginning of March. Now, 12 weeks later, the album is platinum and a mainstay at the front of the chart.

Biggest gainers include Harry StylesFine Line (+43%, #12) and Taylor Swift’s Lover (+34%, #21). Columbia’s Styles gets a boost following the release of his new video for “Watermelon Sugar” as the single racks up adds at Pop radio. Swift’s City of Lover concert special on ABC/Hulu/Disney+ led to many fans revisiting her 2019 Republic blockbuster.

Streeting this week are new projects from Interscope’s The 1975, BMLGR’s Florida Georgia Line, MCA Nashville’s Jordan Davis, Schoolboy/Interscope’s Carly Rae Jepsen and Rounder/Concord’s The Airborne Toxic Event.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to shop for the Memorial Day BBQ we’re planning to have in our hallway.
