In our latest roundoup of Noisemakers, we present a fresh batch of rising professionals from different parts of the biz whose dedication and effort make their superiors look good.
While this week's entrants are making most of their noise from home these days, they'll be able to find their faces in our recent mag—which should provide little or no consolation.
Shawnae Corbett-Rice
VP of Marketing, Warner Records
Corbett-Rice got her start in the biz at Def Jam South/Disturbing Tha Peace. Throughout her career, she’s worked directly with hip-hop luminaries Ludacris, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Jadakiss and, most recently, Wale, overseeing the marketing campaign for his critically acclaimed album, Wow, That’s Crazy. Shawnae is working on Warner rising stars NLE Choppa and Saweetie at the moment, and she just wrapped up a video for Wale’s “Sue Me” starring Lucas Hedges.
Ali Matkosky
National Director, Promotion, Big Loud
The first single Matkosky worked at Country radio after making the move to Big Loud less than two years ago was Morgan Wallen’s smash, “Whiskey Glasses,” which ascended to #1 and owned Country airplay for 2019—not bad for her first go at the format. She shares her Big Loud birthday with rising star HARDY, who accepted his label offer the same day she arrived. While adjusting to WFH, Ali is excited about launching McKenzie Porter at radio and looking for creative ways to interact with stations.
Sarah D’Hilly
Director, Digital Marketing & Sales, Monument
D’Hilly, who oversees streaming strategy at Monument, will never forget surprising Walker Hayes in Times Square by showing him his Spotify billboard. During the quarantine, she’s keeping busy with new releases from Hayes and Caitlin Smith, who created her own Instagram Live series, Lonely Together, which has featured guests like Ingrid Andress, Shane McAnally and Cam. And although most work routines have gone out the window, we’re betting Sarah is still managing to have her signature iced coffee at her side.
Parker Ulry
Director, Digital Marketing, Interscope
There’s no doubt Ulry has had his hands full over the last year, being a part of DaBaby’s team throughout his rise to superstardom and earning two #1s within the last six months, not to mention visual campaigns for the #SugeChallenge to “Toes” and now “Rockstar.” Parker is currently working songs from Alexander 23 and DaBaby at TikTok while brainstorming creative ways to release visuals during quarantine. The new crop of alternative acts with which he’s involved includes Yoshi Flower, Still Woozy, Mk.Gee and JAWNY.
Nicole Lee
Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Astralwerks
Lee, who oversees digital at Astralwerks, is working with A-list gamer Ninja to curate an album that will be his personal soundtrack on Twitch—his milestone partnership with the label is a first for a professional streamer. She was recently wrapped up in Marshmello & Halsey’s brand-new single, “Be Kind,” as they launched a massive pre-release promotion with TikTok celeb Charli D’Amelio, the platform’s most popular influencer, with 50m followers. If there’s an upcoming Tower softball game, make sure to pick Nicole first—we hear she’s a ringer.
Karibi Dagogo-Jack
Head of Biz Dev & Ops, Music Team, Spotify
A diehard music fan, Dagogo-Jack will always be grateful for the opportunity to meet some of his favorite artists through work, including Leonard Cohen, FKA Twigs and TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe. His role at Spotify reaches fans and artists at their core, specifically focusing on their satisfaction. Karibi is excited to spotlight emerging artists with the newly launched RADAR. He’s also got game outside the biz, where he has been known to posterize fools who try to get in his way when he’s going to the rim.
Dorothy Caccavale
Senior Manager, ATC Management
When Caccavale first started managing Norwegian artist/producer Lido, who’s worked with the likes of Chance the Rapper, Jaden Smith and JoJo, she didn’t expect to wake up and find his eight-minute flip of Kanye’s Life of Pablo, aptly titled “Life of Peder,” hit 1m views overnight. When she’s not busy preparing for Lido’s sophomore album, Peder, set for release this fall, or holding headstands—she claims she could break the world record—Dorothy is writing a white paper on her theory that music is a form of time travel. Namasté.
Felix Carrasco
Senior Director, Warner Music Artist Services
Carrasco’s bilingual skillset and U.K. background make the merchandise and product veteran an asset to the global superstars’ campaigns he works. He wears a badge of honor for the Warner Artist Services team, pulling off the smooth operation of 32 Ed Sheeran pop-up shops, each armed with exclusive designer merch, simultaneously around the globe. Another victory for Felix is winning the green-card lottery in 2011, which allowed him to relocate to the U.S. He’s currently busy rolling out products from creative mastermind Melanie Martinez.
